The new changes came in 3 distinct phases:-

  1. October 2014
    The new inspection model cames into force
  2. April 2015
    The Fundamental Standards came into force
  3. April 2015
    - New 'Duty of Candour' makes it a criminal offence if patient is not told true facts of incidents, in a face to face meeting.
    - New 'Fit and Proper Person' test became a statutory duty. It is an offence not to comply or if you do not remove an unfit person from the management.
  4. October 2015
    A named lead inspector to be assigned for each CCG (See CQC change for Practice Inspections)
